Empowering Youths: Dignity for Children Foundation and Think Human Foundation Form a Partnership to Make a Lasting Impact

Think Human Foundation by Webhelp, a non-profit organization committed to promoting education, healthcare, gender equality, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment for marginalized populations, takes action to address the educational barriers faced by refugees in Malaysia.

Think Human Foundation closely aligns with Dignity for Children Foundation in their commitment to empowering marginalized youth and providing them with access to quality education, skill-building opportunities, and essential social support.

Partnership with Think Human Foundation

In a world where collaboration and compassion drive change, Dignity for Children Foundation and Think Human Foundation has forged a powerful partnership. Since 2023, they provide underprivileged youth with comprehensive support, bridging the gap between education and the job market. Through joint efforts, they are empowering young individuals to thrive and transform their lives.

Empowering youths through social emotional learning and digital inclusion

According to The Edge, only a mere 4.1% of job vacancies in 2017 were suited for graduates in professional and technical roles, while low-skill jobs made up a staggering 86.3% of available positions. This disparity highlights the harsh reality faced by the marginalized, as they encounter significant hurdles such as documentation issues and limited opportunities when attempting to secure higher-skill employment.

The aim of the project is to empower marginalized and vulnerable youth through Social Emotional Learning (SEL) for their success. We aim to provide them with a comprehensive education and skill-building experience that enhances their academic proficiency, fosters social and emotional growth, and equips them for success in the job market, breaking the cycle of poverty.

Dual-Track Academic and Skill-Based Program: Through our dual-track program, we offer students the opportunity to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are relevant to the job market. By combining academic learning with skill-building activities, we ensure that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for future career success.

Students participate in a social and emotional learning class, actively discussing and exploring their emotions, building empathy, and fostering positive relationships.

Foster Social and Emotional Learning: We believe that social and emotional growth is crucial for the holistic development of youth. To foster this growth, we integrate activities that promote empathy, self-esteem, kindness, and self-respect into our programs. By nurturing these qualities, we help over 800 youths develop strong social skills and emotional intelligence.

Prepare Youth for Successful Careers: Our partnership aims to prepare 100 youths for successful careers by providing them with practical experience and training in key job-related skills. Through internships, apprenticeships, and vocational training, we offer opportunities for hands-on learning and real-world exposure. By equipping these young individuals with the necessary skills, we empower them to secure sustainable employment and build a brighter future.

Enhance Digital Literacy and Skills: We recognize the increasing importance of digital skills in today's job market, and thus, we provide comprehensive training in various digital tools. Through our program, students will gain proficiency in essential tools such as Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Google Drive. By equipping them with these digital skills, we aim to broaden their career opportunities and empower them to navigate the digital landscape with confidence.

About Dignity

Our work began in 1998 in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur with only 20 students then. Dignity is now a learning centre with more than 2,300 children ranging from 2-19 years old.
