AROUND the world, communities face varied challenges in providing sustainable food that require collaborative responses.
Cathay Pacific is working with partners such as eat X dignity and Green Monday to promote children and youth development in Malaysia, while supporting sustainable eating.
This culinary collaboration aims to catalyse positive change for the people and communities they serve.
The items on the plant-based menu are created by the eat X dignity team, specially for this collaboration.
It includes Spicy Minced OmniMeat Rice Platter, Eat X-XL Meatball Pasta and Oriental Breeze drink.
The team that crafted the menu includes members from Orang Asli and refugee communities, alumni of Dignity for Children Foundation who have completed secondary school education and gone through some F&B training, as well as 11 secondary school students who are currently undergoing training on weekdays.
Tasked with putting together a sustainable menu, the young chefs-in-training took three weeks to create a selection of plant-based dishes. The creation of these dishes helped to stimulate creativity and develop important life skills among those involved.
Proceeds from orders go back to making sure they continue to receive quality education under eat X dignity’s care.
The menu is available at eat X dignity’s restaurant at No.25-G, Jalan 11/48a, Sentul Raya Boulevard in Kuala Lumpur until Dec 31.
It is available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery.
