Cut X Dignity

cut X dignity is a hair salon with a real twist. It is the first hair salon of its kind in Malaysia. Here, our youth learn the art of washing, blow drying, styling and cutting hair for both male and female customers.  From Day 1, students set a high standard of quality hairdressing as they observe the demands and operations of the business. Students engage with customers, learning to welcome, serve and consult under the guidance of our professional stylists. It is truly a learning experience like no other.

cut X dignity also provides hair coloring, hair treatment services and haircut workshops by our professional stylists.

Eat X Dignity

eat X dignity is a cafe and creative space which gives back to the community it serves.
Here, customers are served by youth who brew the coffee, man the till, and serve you delicious meals that are fresh, affordable and made from local produce. The learning experience is broad and keeps students on their toes. Skills like ‘planning ahead’, ‘relating to people’ and ‘being on time’ are not taught in the classroom, but are vital to the F&B industry.

At the same time, abstract concepts of nutrition, science, and even book-keeping come alive for the youth as they take responsibility for the food and money that comes in. Pay us a visit, and know that each meal goes back to making sure each youth that serves you is getting a quality education.

eat X dignity is open for both special events on-site and catering orders for external functions.

  • Open: Mon-Sun (Everyday), 8.00am – 9.30pm (last call at 9.00pm)
  • Closed on Hari Raya and Christmas

Sew X Dignity

At sew X dignity, youth learn the fundamentals of design, sewing and crafting under skilled seamstresses. Not just that, but students learn skills like costing, marketing and customer service as they make and sell products – basically how to start up their own little enterprise.

Using recycled and donated fabrics, students transform them into quirky and unique bags, scarves, dolls and pouches for sale. Here, both discipline and creativity go hand in hand, as youth develop this age-old skill and modern-day entrepreneurship principles in the heart of the Sentul community.

sew X dignity provides repairs, alteration, basic tailoring services and sewn products for the community. Sewing workshops and crafter events coming soon.

Grow x Dignity

grow X dignity is a budding enterprise focused on transforming unused urban locations like rooftops into green spaces that are fruitful. Students work in teams to plant, germinate, tend and harvest various crops including leafy vegetables, Malaysian fruits and local herbs and ulam. Gardening teaches a deep appreciation of the environment and growing food. Youth learn about composting, natural herbicides and pest-control methods so that we grow produce that are fresh and chemical-free.

The fruit of their labour goes to the kitchen to make meals for the younger children, and some are sold.

Products and teas are available at the container beside eat X dignity!
