Dignity Cup 2025: More Than Just a Game
03 October 2025

The Dignity for Children Foundation’s annual football tournament, formerly known as the Faisal Cup, has always been more than a sports event—it’s a celebration of hope, community, and opportunity for marginalized children and youth.

After concluding its 2024 edition at Malaysia’s iconic National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, the tournament has been refreshed and rebranded as the Dignity Cup, ushering in a new era of inclusivity and community spirit, welcoming children from all backgrounds across Malaysia.

Why We Started: The Legacy of the Faisal Cup

The Faisal Cup was started in 2006 to provide marginalized and underserved children and youth a safe, inclusive space to play, learn, and grow through sports.

It aimed to uplift children, nurture their potential, and give them opportunities to shine both on and off the field, helping them develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a sense of belonging. For nearly 19 years, it served as a beacon of hope, and today, the Dignity Cup continues this mission, reaching children from all corners of Malaysia.

This year, the tournament expanded to include volleyball, offering even more avenues for participation and community engagement.

Highlights from Dignity Cup 2025

This year’s competition was bigger and more vibrant than ever, with impressive numbers across the board:

  • 198 teams competed in football and volleyball.

  • Over 1,700 participants aged 8 to 18 took part.

  • 44 schools and learning centres from across Malaysia were represented.

The competition took place over six consecutive Saturdays between June and July, filling the fields with energy, excitement, and unity. Young athletes showcased not just their skills, but their resilience and teamwork, making it a moment for everyone—players, spectators, sponsors, and volunteers alike—to come together and celebrate through sportsmanship.

Beyond the goals and points, it’s about fostering friendships, building resilience, and teaching valuable life lessons.

Every cheer from the sidelines, every high-five after a match, and every shared moment on the field contributes to a supportive and inclusive environment where children can truly flourish.

Through Dignity Cup, the Foundation remains committed to uplifting children and youth through sports, ensuring the spirit, growth, and connections it creates last a lifetime

And this is only the beginning!
